HeidelbergCement announces international scientific and educational competition The Quarry Life Award, conducted simultaneously in 17 countries, including Georgia. Students and researchers are invited to participate in the Quarry Life Award individually or as a team. The Contest consists of 2 stages:
Stage I - Submission of an idea: Applicants are able to get registered at a specially designed website www.quarrylifeaward.ge and fill the application form for participation in the project. 3 participant quarries are open for students and researchers: Kavtiskhevi Limestone Quarry (Shida Kartli), Gardabani Clay Quarry (Kvemo Kartli), Dedoplistskaro Limestone Quarry (Kakheti). |
Project proposals (2 pages) shall be submitted by 17th of February 2012.
5 selected proposals per each country will be notified by National Jury by 5thof March 2012 to move to the II stage
Stage II - Project submission: Selected projects can receive financial support from HeidelbergCement to cover the project costs. Participating quarries will open their doors between March and September 2012 for students and researchers for field work. Final Project Proposal (10 pages) shall be submitted by 28th of September 2012.
Winners on national level, selected by National Jury will be awarded with 1500, 3000 and 5000 Euro, Global winners selected by global Jury will be awarded with 10 000, 20 000, 30 000 Euro.
